Dogs need holidays too!

Man Carrying Jack Russell on Shoulder in Arles

Enjoying a best life, exploring Arles

The historic town of Uzès and the surrounding Languedoc-Rousillion region of Southern France offers a diverse range of active and cultural activities, and its superb natural setting also makes for an ideal haven to enjoy good food and fresh air.

The Uzège region is a superb dog-friendly destination, with many restaurants, cafés, and shops welcoming dogs. You can often find water bowls and dog treats available outside establishments, and many restaurants and shops welcome dogs inside.

Dogs are held in great esteem in the area, especially as they have the nose for tracking down the prized black truffle!

Nearby Euzet-les-Bains, is a small authentic village, and it is a great spot to settle with your dog on holiday.

The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with plenty of scenic trails where you can take your dog for leisurely flat walks along the old railway, or take an ambitious hike into the garrigue scrubland and rocky wilderness.

The surrounding area includes vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills.

Walking at Euzet-les-Bains

The village is at the foothills of the expansive UNESCO World Heritage Cévennes et Causes mountain range which means that you can easily explore this outstanding wider area with your companion. You can enjoy a variety of different landscapes and activities including some great river spots for a swim and a picnic

It's important to note that some of the trails in the Cévennes may be steep or challenging, so it's a good idea to check with local tourist offices or hiking organisations to find trails that are suitable for you and your dog.

Yellow walking trail signs

There are many interesting rambling routes with direct access from Euzet village.  The trails are clearly PR -  (Promenade et Randonnée) marked with distinctive yellow signs leading you to:

…and more

You will be influenced by the company of the melodic troubadours and of the tenacious Camisards who trod these paths many years ago!
